Learn to Photoshop How it was done
Some important Photoshop assistance was needed with this image.
- The fingers were erased and the stork of the feather extended a little.
- The feather was positioned on the sky and much of the surrounding blue also removed.
- The blending mode of the feather layer was changed to Lighten.
As a result the two blues merged into each other quite well, but the blue of the sky and the blue around the feather were not exactly the same. - An eyedropper marker was attached to the image, just outside the edge of the feather.
The colour readings of the blue sky in the main image were noted. - With the feather layer active, the Selective Color dialogue box was opened.
Under Colors - Blues small adjustments were made to the sliders to give a perfect match between the two blues.
Here we see a finished picture. Although the blue of the sky is different from the blues above, the blue around the feather can still merge in perfectly.
